Philasande needs your help to fly to Canada and pursue his dream

He is set to jet off in August, should he be able to raise the funds needed for the scholarship.

Philasande Shozi (19) of Murchison requires your help to fly to Canada in pursuit of his dream – a scholarship programme at the Wilfrid Laurier University.

The former Port Shepstone High pupil who is currently studying towards his Bachelor of Business Administration degree at the University of KwaZulu-Natal says he needs to raise about R90 000 for the exchange programme.

According to Philasande, the exchange programme will enable him to broaden his experience and teach him valuable life lessons.

He is set to jet off in August, should he be able to raise the funds needed.

Born and raised in Murchison and having never had the opportunity to travel abroad, for Philasande this is a big deal, the real deal and he is super excited.

Philasande and his one-year-old brother are being raised by a single mother.

Although he grew up wanting to be a soccer player and coach, that notion soon disappeared when he drew inspiration from his grandad who was a businessman.

Philasande urges young people not to forget where they come from. “Education is power, so study hard,” he said.
