Crochet queens are stitching away for charity at the Shelly Centre’s Crochet Café which takes place at the centre from July 12 to 21.

The initiative entails volunteers making blankets for hospice patients this Mandela Day. Centre PRO Beaudene Steyn said it is a way to help others and improve one’s own sense of well-being in the world by doing one’s part for people in the community.
“Every stitch and every square counts. Crocheting for charity is an act of love because it makes a tangible difference in the lives of those patients at hospice,” she explained.
