WATCH: One man dead, four children critically injured in Murchison crash

The taxi driver died at the scene.

A taxi driver died and several children were injured when a taxi and a truck collided on the N2 in Murchison earlier this morning.

According to Craig Botha from KwaZulu Private Ambulances Services the accident occurred at about 7am.

” The taxi was transporting children to school. The taxi driver died at the scene whilst four school children, aged between six and 15 years,  suffered critical injuries. Six people on the truck were also badly injured, ” said Mr Botha.

All patients were transported to various hospitals for treatment. The road was closed to traffic. The cause of the accident is not yet known. An investigation will be done by Port Shepstone Saps.
