UPDATE: Sunwich Port man found safe in Bethlehem

His disappearance sparked a full-scale search.

The search for Sunwich Port man, Hendrik Christoffel van der Merwe (60) has ended.

Police today (Wednesday) confirmed that Mr van der Merwe had been found safe in Bethlehem.

He was reported missing on July 1. He was last seen by his fiancee Mariana Williams after he left for home after a prayer meeting. When she arrived home he and his car were not there, but his cellphone had been left behind.
