Spin for Pro Deo Care Group this Saturday

All proceeds will go to charity.

Pro Deo Care Group will be holding a find-raising spin-a-thon  at Margate Superbodies this Saturday, August 17.

There will be nine teams of 10 people, with a minimum donation of R100 per person.

All proceeds will go to charity.

If you would like to take part, contact Marius at 081 394 3274, Eloïse at 082 8226661 or Henda Olivier at 082 7776502.

On a wider scale, this will be the 19th consecutive year for the Pro Deo Cycle Tour which hopes to raise more than R1-million.

This year the five day cycle challenge event will run from October 2 to 6, and will include 18 cyclists.

Bennie Kruger and his cycle team (consisting of businessmen and women) will endure this grueling race of 847km (around 180 per day) from Johannesburg to San Lameer to raise funds.

The Pro Deo Care Group is a non-profit, voluntary organisation.

It consists of a group of volunteers which has rendered various services to the aged, disabled and cancer sufferers on the South Coast over the past 21 years.

“The organisation relies solely on the support and goodwill of individuals and businesses to raise funds for these much-needed services. These funds are specifically applied towards the home-based care of cancer sufferers and frail aged people in the community across all races,” said Chairman of Pro Deo Care group, Eloïse van Niekerk
Home-based care costed this organisation more than R800 000 in 2018.

This year’s budget exceeds R1-million due to the escalating need among people that cannot afford frail care services and do not have medical insurance.
