Sheppie Snippets: Dingalings comedy show comes to town

HIBISCUS Coast Darts Association (Port Shepstone) is hosting the Dingalings. This is a fund-raising event for the association. The show titled ‘The best of Koobie and Henry’ will be staged at the Port Shepstone Civic Centre this Saturday, August 24 at 6.30pm for 7pm.
Tickets cost R100 per person. The show carries an age restriction of 16 years.

Family fun day
Port Shepstone Secondary and Euphoria are proud to present their family fun day at the school this Saturday, August 24 from 8am. The event is being held to promote drug awareness in schools and the community. There will be a social volleyball tournament. the cost is R150 per team. A fun run takes place at 10am with registration at 8am. Cost is R10 for scholars (under 18) and R20 for adults. There will also be foods stalls, health and wellness, live entertainment, arts and crafts and loads more. For further information call 039 6820819.
Prayer
The Shree Hanuman Sanathan Dharma Sabha Mandir are observing Gita week from August 16. Discourses recitals and bhajans will be held throughout Gita Week. Prayers on weekdays start at 6pm and weekends at 7.30am. Krishna Janmashtami will be observed this Friday, August 23 at 6pm. Shree Ganesha week will be observed from this Saturday, August 24. The Shree Raam Narayan Mandir in Marburg is also observing Gita Week from August 16 at 6.30pm and Sri Krishna Janmashtami this Friday, August 23 from 6.30pm until midnight. Bhajans will be held daily up to August 23. All are welcome. Officiating priest will be Pundit Misra. The mandir will also observe Sri Krishna Chaturthi. CPF meeting
Albersville Community Policing Forum (CPF) will hold a meeting at Port Shepstone Secondary on Monday, August 26 at 6pm. The purpose of the meeting is to enhance community-police partnerships in the fight against crime through active communication and co-operation in police initiatives. Residents are urged to attend.

Soccer tournament
The 2019 Strini Moodley Junior Soccer Tournament takes place at Port Shepstone Senior Primary grounds this Saturday, August 24 from 8am.
This is the tenth tournament and 10 schools are set to compete.
School fund-raising
Suid-Natal Primary is hosting a dinner and dance at Van’s Roadhouse in Margate on Saturday, August 31. This is a fund-raising event for the school.
Tickets cost R200 per person and can be purchased at the school reception. Entertainment includes live music, an auction and many prizes. For further information contact Gerda at 071 6727385.
Golf day
