His lifeless body was found and brought to shore with the assistance of Scottburgh lifeguards.
WITH summer fast approaching, more and more people are headed for the beach.
However, bathers are encouraged to first check with lifeguards if conditions at certain beaches are safe for bathing, especially at bigger beaches where resources can be spread thin.

This comes after the drowning of an 18-year-old man from Malangeni, who had gone swimming with a friend at Park Rynie beach on Monday afternoon this week.
“Two men were swimming in the surf and one of them allegedly got into difficulty at 2pm. The other man, a friend, swam to shore and sought assistance,” said Scottburgh Saps communications officer, Captain Adam Francis.
A local resident, Daintee Govender, received the report from the distressed bather and immediately headed to the scene, swimming out into the surf to locate him.
His lifeless body was found and brought to shore with the assistance of Scottburgh lifeguards.
Nothing could be done to save the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was later taken to the Medico Legal Mortuary in Park Rynie. An autopsy will be conducted.
