On the South Coast, all interested parties, both women and men, will stand in silence from 11am to 12pm.

Organiser Meg Fourie

urges all women to wear black in a show of solidarity for the victims who have lost their lives.

SA Women Fight Back was started on August 8 this year when one woman learned about yet another heartless murder and simply decided, “enough is enough”.

The group was started the day Meghan Cremer’s body was found. According to the organisation, its vision is to cultivate a united front among female citizens, against violent crimes and femicide in the country.

“With strength in unity, we hope our call is heard by politicians, law makers and all fellow South Africans. We call for harsher sentencing for rape and murder in our country, as well as better access to education and more resources granted for community uplift-ment programmes,” said Mrs Fourie.
