“The description of the vehicle used in the commission of the crime was circulated to members on patrol. The quick-thinking members drove to various scrap dealers in Park Rynie and conducted searches,” said Scottburgh Saps communications officer, Captain Adam Francis.

A vehicle matching the description provided to members on patrol had been located at one of the scrap yards and, upon inspection, it was found that the stolen car parts were in the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle, as well as the occupants, were arrested and subsequently charged for being in possession of suspected stolen property.

Scottburgh Saps station commander, Colonel Ralph Ruiters commended the team for its excellent work and also appealed to the community not to purchase stolen property.
