Locally, several women met at Palm Crest Industrial Centre (opposite Sebenza Nursery) in Margate where they stood in silence for all fallen women.

Organiser Meg Fourie urged all women to wear black in solidarity with the victims.

Mrs Fourie said the movement was started on August 8, the day Meghan Cremer’s body was found.

“This was the final straw and the group was formed that day. This is for her and the women across South Africa who have been victims of a violent crime.”

According to Mrs Fourie, the organisation’s vision is to cultivate a united front amongst women against violent crimes in South Africa.
