Metal-heads to play for SPCA
Hate Speech's music is best described as fast, furious and intense.
Catch Hate Speech, the South Coast’s loudest heavy metal protagonists, on stage at Rocky Ridge in Ramsgate on Saturday, September 21.
The band will donate all the door takings to the Lower South Coast branch of the SPCA.

Heavy metal music was first heard in the late 60s, early 70s and can trace its origins to blues, acid and psychedelic rock and the bands who created heavy metal developed massive sound which is characterised by amplified distortion. The genre’s most famous pioneers include Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Alice Cooper and Kiss, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Metallica and Def Leppard.

And as animals rights and treatment are issues close to the hearts of the band members – Russell Stroud (vocals), Brady Jordan (guitar), Graeme Messina (bass), Rudi van Wyk (drums) and new recruit Morne Linell (guitar) they want metal music fans to show their caring side by supporting the gig.
There will be a R50 per person cover charge and attendees are encouraged to bring a tin or packet of dog or cat food. Donations of blankets or toys to make the animals more comfortable would be welcome too.
