Global audience awaits South Coast businessman

SmartXchange is also exploring the opportunity of rolling out an incubator in the Township of Khayelitsha, Cape Town in a bid to service one of the poorest communities.

Jonathan Naidoo, a South Coast businessman who is the CEO of SmartXchange, has been selected as one of 10 global finalists to pitch at the 2019 ITU Global Telecoms Conference in Budapest.

The paper titled ‘Smart Incubation Replication – Grows Innovation’ (SIR-GI) focuses on the roll out of the incubation model with the intent of encouraging and growing innovation.

SmartXchange is a business incubator whose strategy is aligned with the national imperatives of developing SMMEs and creating jobs that will grow the economy of South Africa.

Jonathan is based at the SmartXchange head office in Durban.

The incubator has already replicated its model successfully in Port Shepstone and is now in the process of setting up a township incubator in KwaMashu.

Further plans are afoot with the Department of Trade and Industry and the Moses Kotane Institute who have engaged with SmartXchange to partner in the revitalisation of 15 special economic zones nationally and the establishment of rural incubators in Jozini (Ndumo), Ukhahlamba (Bergville), Mpofana, Mzumbe, Mandeni and Dumbe through the replication of its incubation model.

SmartXchange is also exploring the opportunity of rolling out an incubator in the township of Khayelitsha, Cape Town in a bid to service one of the poorest communities and solve local problems through innovation.
