What price a girl’s dignity?
One pack will ensure that one girl’s menstruation needs are taken care of for no less than four years, at a cost of just R220.

WOMEN’s Month is still fresh in our minds, and from there, it’s a small step to commit to empowering a young girl.
From October 2 to 4, the Rotary Club of Scottburgh in partnership with GJ Crookes Hospital will be holding health days at the Malangeni Community Centre, providing free health services in alignment with the Department of Health’s national wellness campaign, ‘Chekaimpilo’ (know your numbers).

During this campaign the Rotary Club aims to provide sanitary pads to women and young girls who are forced to use paper, leaves, or rags during their menstrual cycles, often leading to infection.
Additionally young girls often have to miss school each month during their menstrual cycle.
The solution? Dignity Dreams washable (multi-use) sanitary pad packs which contain a drawstring bag, six washable sanitary pads (SABS absorbency approved), a zip lock bag, a multi-lingual instruction sheet and two pairs of panties.
One pack will ensure that one girl’s menstruation needs are taken care of for no less than four years, at a cost of just R220.
The pads are washed in cold water using green sunlight soap, rinsed, sterilised and softened with salt water.
They are then dried in direct sunlight for extra anti-bacterial protection.
Each pad lasts approximately 48 months.
If you are willing to donate a pack – or more – contact Scottburgh Rotary Club’s Cherilynn Poynter at 083-3827432.
