Captain Petros Mpinge said police officers from Mehlomnyama, Cluster Operational Command Centre and Police Emergency Services, conducted an intelligence driven operation following up on information with regards to a planned killing at Mgolomi on Tuesday night.
On Wednesday, the police officers executed an operation which led them to a homestead at Mgolomi.

“The prompt police action prevented bloodshed and the suspect was brought to book,” said Capt Mpinge.
Also on Wednesday morning, Hibberdene police discovered a truck trailer near Smith Stop in Hibberdene which had been offloaded and only a few boxes were left intact.
Upon several inquiries, it was established the trailer was hijacked in the Pinetown area.
The trailer was taken to the Port Shepstone Vehicle Safeguarding Unit for further investigation.
Later in the evening, Hibberdene Crime Prevention members were patrolling along Sipofu Road when they came across two vehicles.
Cpt Mpinge said a single cab and a panel van were offloading some items near KwaMpande Stop.
“Police arrested three men aged between 26 and 40 years. Police believe that the sealed boxes belong to the trailer that was recovered earlier in the day,” he said.
All three suspects will appear in the Umzumbe Magistrate’s Court
