Expired food confiscated in joint operation

No arrests were made.

Margate police, together with various governmental departments including Home Affairs, Environmental Health and Ray Nkonyeni Law Enforcement, were involved in the joint ‘Operation Fiela’ recently.

A number of areas were targeted, including Margate CBD, Mvutshini, Gcilima and Nositha.

Police spokesman, Sergeant Sibu Ncane said expired goods, especially food items, were targeted.

“No arrests were made but a number of food items were confiscated from shops.”

Margate station commander, Brigadier William Slabbert commended the work done by the different departments and assured the public that other regular operations would be conducted.
