UPDATE: Whale carcass carved up off Shelly Beach – VIDEO

The cause of the whale's death is not known at this stage.

A whale, believed to be a humpback, washed up off Shelly Beach late yesterday evening.

At the time it was advised not to try and get close to it as it was in an area considered dangerous for one to try and access.

However, the predicted cutting up of the carcass has already started.
