Port Shepstone High School’s Oratory Society recently attended the provincial round of the South African Agency of Science and Technological Advancement (SAASTA) at Durban Girls High School.
The topic debated on the day was ‘Does it remain important for South Africa to continue bioprospecting in search of solutions to a myriad of challenges facing the country?’

Considering this question from a political perspective, the school agreed with the statement.
Sheppie High took part with eight other KZN schools, all comprising five-man teams.
The topic was rigorously debated throughout the day.
Proudly PSHS placed first and will now represent KwaZulu-Natal at the national competition.
