Driver goes into cardiac arrest

Five people suffered injuries.

Paramedics responded to an accident scene on the St Michael’s bridge on Tuesday this week after a car and a taxi collided.

According to paramedic Craig Botha of Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service, emergency services found that a passenger from the taxi had suffered minor injuries.

“The patient was treated on scene and transported to hospital. The driver of the car went into cardiac arrest as emergency services arrived. Paramedics started CPR and worked for over an hour on the patient while he was being transported to hospital” said Mr Botha.

In another accident three people suffered serious injuries when two bakkies collided on the N2 Izingolweni at Wilson’s Cutting on Monday this week. The injured were taken to hospital. The cause of both accidents is being investigated by the police.
