
Quick response from a security company resulted in the arrest of a 19-year-old suspected of robbing a store at St Michael’s on Monday morning this week.
According to police spokesman, Sergeant Sibu Ncane a 52-year-old woman was alone in her shop when the teenager entered.

“He pretended to be hiring dvds, taking the covers and placing them on the counter.
“Suddenly, he darted behind the counter where he and the woman became involved in a struggle, during which the woman was reportedly throttled.
“He forced her into the ground and demanded cash, which he took before fleeing,” said Capt Ncane.
The woman pressed a panic button. A private security company responded and arrested the suspect.
The stolen cash was recovered.
He was charged with business robbery and will appear in the Ramsgate Magistrate’s Court soon.
