Fidler in the Hood: Let Me Sing and I’ll Be Happy
News that Mike Berry had landed up in hospital in Port Shepstone came as something of a shock.
GREETINGS, Friends! The last three months of the year. Where does the time go to? Even with deadlines, time waits for no one, especially when it’s ‘sleepy time down south’. More so when it’s a ‘slow news’ week, and your scribe tries to conjure up some fake news for you, the readers. His motto is ‘let me sing and I’ll be happy’. If he fails, friends, it’s not for want of trying. On with the show.

News that former Ramsgate Lions’ quizmaster and Manchester City supporter par excellence Mike Berry had landed up in hospital in Port Shepstone came as something of a shock.

Mike had visited our place for the ritual of watching beloved Manchester City on the telly. In the absence of the CO (in Ireland at present) your scribe had offered to cook a meal and immediately afterwards Mike was rushed to hospital. Surely the cheese and tomato ‘butties’ couldn’t have been that bad?
Stay where you are
It appeared Mike was seriously in a bad way, being forced to stay in hospital for over a week. Fortunately, he is now well on the way to full recovery, although hospital staff have put their feet down and refused him parole to come round and watch City’s match with Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend.
We have a superstitiously ‘winning formula’ for watching our now not-so-beloved City. Stay where you are, Mike: the Blues broke our hearts, being walloped by the Wolves, even without Liverpool fan, one David Rush calling the shots. It’s a cruel world! See you around. Rob.
