Business owners along District 4004 are tarring the road at their own expense.
Angry residents in District 4004 have had enough of the deteriorating public roadway, from Esayidi College to Dezzi South Coast Raceway in Oslo Beach, and beyond.
The owner of Dezzi’s, Desmond Gutzeit claims the road never gets repaired.

After years of using a dirt, pothole-riddled road, Mr Gutzeit, along with other business owners in District 4004 have decided to tar the road at their own expense. All agreed the upgrading of the road will bring relief to the residents of the area. “It does not help to complain and do nothing about it,” said Mr Gutzeit.
He notes that the state of the road has got to the point where it’s ‘an accident waiting to happen.’
“The road has gone down to base course as the top part has perished. It is breaking up all over the place. Heavy articulated trucks are using this road and causing huge damage to the road infrastructure. This is simply unacceptable!” said Mr Gutzeit.
“This road is not made for heavy vehicles. It is too narrow, and there are other main routes meant for trucks.”
He said it was not the first time that residents had repaired the road. “I previously repaired certain parts of the road.”
Mr Gutzeit said, the perished tarmac stone on this stretch of roadway also poses a problem, vehicles are restricted to 10km as the stone aggregate is so loose that it is damaging the undercarriage of vehicles and chipping paintwork.
“Travelling along this road has been a nightmare for everyone, and we are happy the road will finally be upgraded with new tar,” he concluded.
