Sheppie Snippets: Support Chamber golf day
The tournament is being held in support of two local creches.
THE South Coast Chamber of Commerce and Industry is holding an 18-hole golf tournament at Port Shepstone Country Club next Friday, October 25. The format is a four-ball, betterball, Stableford. Tee-off is at 10am, and the fee is R280 per person.
The tournament is being held in support of the Snemfundo Creche in Mkolombe and the Cathulisanani Creche in Bhomela.

Diwali prayer

Santa Shoebox
The Santa Shoebox project collects and distributes gift boxes to underprivileged children throughout South Africa and Namibia. This year they are aiming to collect 713 shoeboxes for underprivileged children on the South Coast The public are asked to take part in the project by visiting www.santashoebox.org.za to register as a supporter. Quiz night
South Coast Hospice will host its quiz night at the Lion’s Den on Ambleside Road, Umtentweni on Thursday, October 31 at 6pm for 6.30pm. Cost is R25 per person and teams of two to eight are welcome. To book, contact Joy at 079 3092874 or 039 6823031.
Thunee competition
For the past five years, the Wild Coast Sun Hotel and Casino Resort has held a Thunee Classic Challenge which has become extremely popular, attracting players from as far afield as Johannesburg, Cape Town, Richards Bay, Ladysmith and Durban as well as many local contenders.
The Wild Coast Thunee Classic Challenge will be played at the Wild Coast Sun Hotel and Casino Resort on Saturday, November 2 from midday.
Closing date for team registration is October 28. Cost is R250 per team of two, and the main prize is R30 000. On Friday, November 1 a Bhangra and Old School classics evening will be held with DJ Vickraj on the turntables at Chico’s buffet restaurant.

The Port Shepstone Tamil Association presents the musical show ‘Thamizhahan’ at the Port Shepstone Civic Centre on Saturday, November 9 at 7pm. The show will feature musicians Karthiegasen Pillay, Thiru Kisten, Melini Muruvan, Kas Govender, Keegan Pillay, Kirthan Pillay and Dillan Kanny and will also feature Bollywood dancers. Tickets cost R100 and are available at B&B Confectionery and Sheppie Green Grocers. Lucky draws will also take place.
