Devotion: Great is Thy faithfulness, O God
He can show you how to remain committed to the promises you make as He remained faithful to His.

OUR family is so fond of our miniature Schnauzer. What strikes me about this little dog, is his faithfulness and devotion to us. He lives for us – his family.
Sadly most people these days would struggle to show the faithful devotion that that little dog shows me every day.

People are masters at unfaithfulness – in relationships, at work, towards God.
He created you and loves you so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus, to reconcile you to Himself.
It is by His grace that I am what I am, yet, when left to my own devices, I default to unfaithfulness and compromise in my devotion to Him.
One of the great reasons we struggle so much to remain faithful in this world is possibly due to the lack of good examples of faithfulness we see around us.
We may be tempted to ask, “What does faithfulness look like?”
Sure, there is that odd couple who’ve been married for 60 years, and employees who have been devoted to a company for 35 years, but such examples are rare.
In the midst of that scarcity, scripture offers us an example that we can always follow.
2 Timothy 2:13 reminds me that I have a God who, even when all were unfaithful to Him, and remaining faithful cost Him everything, still remained faithful.
That’s the example we have to follow.
That means that He can show you how to remain committed to the promises you make as He remained faithful to His.
He can show you how to stay loving and care for people who reject you and seek to harm you, because He did when they sent Him to the cross.
He never abandons His children. He cannot be unfaithful for one second.
My desire should be to be more like Him in my faithfulness. You and I know the next generation surely need to see what faithfulness looks like.
Maybe you and I could show them!
