Voices for Hospice has been a South Coast institution for 29 years.
Various local school choirs teamed up for the Voices for Hospices event at Norwegian Settlers’ Church last Thursday.

Not only did the event raise funds and public awareness for South Coast Hospice, but it provided a platform to showcase the fine vocal performances by local school choirs. “We have truly raised our voices to raise awareness and funds for hospice,” said pupil, Nhlonipho Shezi from Port Shepstone High.

Joy Moodley, the South Coast Hospice media and volunteer coordinator said the event encouraged those working in palliative care. “The Voices for Hospice project has helped draw attention to their work,” she said.

Ms Moodley said South Coast Hospice is proud to continue this fine tradition that was first handed to South Coast Hospice fundraiser Barbara Hall, who under the guidance of Dr Yvonne Huskisson, started this event 29 years ago.
“Today, the event is still in the hands of an enthusiastic and willing band of supporters.”
