How it began

There was a strong liaison between the liberation forces in South Africa and Sweden in the pre-democratic era. With the advent of democracy, Sweden proposed a programme to support civil society and build leadership based on a “people to people” programme in various fields, professions and members of the community.

The programme proposed was twinning – based on mutual respect and solidarity. The town of Oskarshamn, Sweden selected Port Shepstone.

It has been the commitment and passion of those involved that has sustained the association, and their work continues voluntarily.

In appreciation, the association wants to celebrate its achievement with the community and individuals who support its work.

The celebration starts at 2pm, and guests can look forward to entertainment, exhibitions and an early dinner. RSVP to 078 1782325.
