Fashion and fun on the wild side

Special guest, Miss SA Zozibini Tunzi showed off her locally-designed outfit and models from the SA Model Academy took to the catwalk with confidence.

Fashion fanatics, gorgeous garments and well known personalities set the scene at this year’s annual Indwangu Fashion and Arts Fair, held at The Wild Coast Sun Hotel and Casino Resort recently.

The latest fashion trends from the University of Walter Sisulu designers formed part of the show.

Zozibini encouraged parents to support their children’s dreams, not just financially but emotionally and physically too.

Models from the SA Models Foundation in Port Edward strut their stuff.

She said she had been honored to be part of the three-day fair, which included visits to the chief’s homestead and a wine tasting and arts fair in addition to the fashion show.

Oenophiles lined up to get their glasses filled with their favourite wines and visitors queued to purchase beautiful bead work, made by local women.

Guests also had a chance to socialise, listen to some house tunes and enjoy the entertainment provided by the talented Clinton Philander.

Wild Coast Sun Hotel and Casino Resort’s public relations and promotions coordinator, Mawande Genu said their mission was to collect donations of sanitary pads, or money to buy pads which will be handed over to more than 3 000 young women from Bizana and surrounding areas.

“I’m so glad to be part of this beautiful initiative that will see young school girls receive sanitary towels so that they don’t miss a day of school,” added Zozibini.

Seventy percent of the ticket sales will go towards the purchase of the life-changing pads.
