In 2013, they started releasing singles, but in 2018 they released an EP with five tracks, titled ‘I can do it too’.
There’s a story behind its name.
“In school there some people who said I can’t rap, that I can’t do it, I’m trash,” he said.
Instead of giving up, it encouraged him even more.
“It didn’t bother me as I knew where I was heading. I know that with God all things are possible and I believe in God.”
Earlier this year Flowtic and Rouse released another EP title ‘Coast Wave’ which was released last month. This one has seven singles.
“We decided to try a new style, and in doing so let the younger generation know that copying other people is not they way to go and not the way to find success,” he said.
Their message is clear: “Do your own thing and be proud of it. Don’t let others ruin your style and you’ll make it.”
The rappers have plans for the youngsters in the Mtwalume area.
“We’d like to teach them to rap, sing and learn more about music and God. We respect our roots and know that we are nothing without our local people.”
