New community services manager appointed at Umdoni

TREVOR Khanyile has been appointed Umdoni Municipality’s new General Manager of Community Services.

“Mr Khanyile, who is no stranger to local government, was previously employed at Ugu District Municipality as Manager Community Services and spent a number of years at Umzumbe Municipality also serving in a senior management position,” said Umdoni Municipality communications manager, Sphelele Cele.

Some of the key areas of performance for this position include the management of parks and recreation, beach management, fire and rescue, libraries, cemeteries, verge maintenance, disaster and fire, facilities management, traffic and law enforcement.

Mr Khanyile took office on November 1 and will serve for five years.

“We wish Mr Khanyile well and are confident that he will be equal to the task,” said Ms Cele.
