Urgent call to help Harding

The town and surrounds face an ongoing battle with water supply.

Civil rights organisation AfriForum has stepped in to assist the community of Harding who face ongoing water supply problems.

For several years, the town and surrounds have been forced to endure frequents supply interruptions and sometimes no water at all for days on end.

This is having a serious impact on businesses, schools and medical facilities.

AfriForum Margate chairman, Barry Smit said the branch had taken note of the municipality’s inability to maintain the water supply and as a result had taken it upon itself to help alleviate the problem.

“We are calling on organisations, businesses and individuals to assist with the installation of a borehole.

“We have identified the Harding AFM Church as a possible site, and any contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference to an entire community, ” he said.

Margate Round Table 46, AFM Church Harding, and the Harding Ratepayers’ and Residents’ Association have already joined the initiative.
