SHONKWENI Primary pupils and staff were thrilled to be announced as top achievers at the recent South African National Science Olympiad.
The 23rd annual awards function took place at the University of KwaZulu-Natal recently.

There six Grade 6 pupils – Snodumo Buthelezi, Thandulwethu Mbele, Amahle Hlongwa, Wandile Mbuyisa, Sphumelelo Mbamba and Amanda Mthethwa – who achieved results ranging from 83 percent to 87 percent, were recognised.
The school also bagged first place as the top performing school for Grade 6 science with teacher, Vukile Ernest Radebe receiving the accolade.
