Sarel nabs green mamba in St Mike’s tree

Sarel said jokingly he thinks the mamba was trying to make its way to the nearby pub for a drink.

Sarel thanks his helpers for their assistance in rescuing the green mamba.

Under the watchful eye of the gathered crowds, snake catcher Sarel van der Merwe rescued a green mamba hanging out in a tree in St Mike’s earlier today.

A very sick Sarel who currently has flu, was grateful to the Ray Nkonyeni Municipality Fire Department and Law Enforcement for their help.

The Fire Department brought their ladder for Sarel to use, as he was feeling too weak to climb the tree.

Holidaymakers and locals enjoyed all the action, even taking out their cellphones to video the rescue.
