Southcity Christian School’s senior preparatory phase hosted its annual prize-giving last Thursday.
Rose Ledward handed out all the special awards and mention must be made of gr 7 pupils Luca Dudley (2019 dux) and Caitlyn Peckham (dux proximé, monitor of the year and girl swimmer of 2019).

The netball player of the year and girl hockey player award went to Yimanathi Fikeni.
Bayanda Hufner received the boy swimmer of the year award and the Margate Pharmacy Trophy for student of the year was scooped up by Caitlyn Peckham.
Cassara Douthwaite and Grace Elliott shared the good fellowship award; the girls’ cricket player of the year was Toni de Pontis and Rafe Drummond claimed the boys’ cricket player of the year.
Rugby player of the year went to Werner van Niewenhuizen and Grace Elliott and Rafe Drummond won the cross-country athlete of 2019 award.
Axel Anthony won the boys’ hockey player of the year and Grace Elliott and Trent Owen earned the girl and boy athlete of 2019 awards.
Azaria Reggie scored the girls’ soccer player of 2019 award and Lwandle Sakwe won the boys’ award.
Sportsgirl of 2019 went to Yimanathi Fikeni and Bayanda Hufner took the sportsman of 2019 title.
