Police urge the public to call the Saps Crime Stop number at 086-0010111 if they have information about a crime being committed, or spot possible suspicious activity.
SCOTTBURGH Saps indicated at its latest community policing forum meeting that crime had increased.

The police can also be contacted if you have information which can help solve a crime which has already been committed.
Remember, you may remain anonymous when you call the Crime Stop number.
Crime Stop is a national call centre responsible for collecting information on criminal activity from the public.
It operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day and you will be given a unique code that will allow you to phone back or to use if you want to enquire about the status of a case.
Police have also issued a reminder that ALL crime, no matter how seemingly insignificant, must be reported to your nearest police station.
Scottburgh Saps communications officer, Captain Adam Francis, has the following advice to offer:
* Do not allow strangers to assist you at the ATM.
* Do a physical check after you activate your vehicle immobiliser/alarm to check that your doors are locked.
* Keep your driveway gates closed and burglar gates locked.
* Keep your vehicle doors locked and your windows closed at stop streets and at robots.
* Avoid carrying large sums of cash.
