Yusuf is Scottburgh High’s junior top achiever

ADELL Chetty was the guest of honour at Scottburgh High’s junior prize giving.

All three of Mrs Chetty’s daughters attended the school, and all were head girls.

Her youngest daughter, Kiara was head girl in 2019.

Awards were presented as follows:

First in Grade 8 and a merit certificate for achieving minimum overall aggregate of 80 percent: Diashen Govender.

First in Grade 9 and a merit certificate for achieving minimum overall aggregate of 80 percent: Paige Russell.

First in Grade 10 and receives half colours for achieving an overall aggregate of 80 percent: Natalie Nortje.

First in Grade 11 and receives honours for achieving an overall aggregate of 89.8 percent: Yusuf Moosa.

For drama, Siyamthanda Phakathi was given an award for performance of the year, Caryn Fraser for best cameo performance and the best producers were Keyur Maharaj, Yusuf Moosa, Thashen Morgan, Arya Singh and Lashay Govender.

Yusuf Moosa also received certificates for achievements in English, science and mathematics, as well as the Illovo Shield for the highest aggregate score in grades 10, 11 and 12.

This year’s head girl, Khilona Piyarlall was presented with the McDonogh family trophy as the Grade 11 academic runner-up.

Rayde Kruger walked off with the Nico Nel trophy for the pupil with the best academic record, coupled with co-curricular participation and achievement in Grade 11.
