Electric vibe at Navaratri festival in Port Shepstone

The Shree Hanuman Sanathan Dharma Sabha Mandir hosted a beautiful celebration at the mandir recently.

South Africa’s biggest Navaratri tour started at the Shree Hanuman Sanathan Dharma Sabha Mandir, which saw a large crowd gather for the first day of the festival on October 11.

Popular performer Shiv Shuffler and his show band headed the event, joined by the energetic beats of the Dhol Army BollyRatri DJ Set. It was the first time that the show band visited Port Shepstone.

South Coasters came out in numbers and enjoyed the amazing music and beautiful vibes. The Mandir started the event with the Navaratri prayer, a nine-day Hindu festival, which started on October 11 and concludes on October 20.

Devotees took part in prayer, recitals, discourses and hawan, followed by music, dance and the first-of-its-kind outdoor Garba festival.

Many devotees were seen at the mandir.

Chairperson for the Shree Hanuman Sanathan Dharma Sabha Mandir, Veena Lakhan, thanked everyone for making the event a great success. “Firstly, I extend my gratitude to the Divine Mother for making this event possible. To our South Coast community, thank you for showing up and supporting this huge event,” said Veena.
