Talk of the Towns: Season was super
It was so good to see our police, protection services and others controlling the access to Scottburgh main beach during the festive period.
ONCE again, we’ve entered “Januworry” and it’s back to work for most of us.
I hope that everyone enjoyed the festive period and had a chance to rejuvenate.
There were quite a few events in the area, one of which was the much-anticipated South Coast Beach Picnic which took place at Park Rynie last Saturday.

It was widely hailed a success, aside from a barrage of complaints from those living nearby about the fireworks.
The firework display was not advertised, and came as a surprise.
Even though it was stunning to watch, it wasn’t so grand for the pets, terrified by all the big bangs.
I believe there will be a similar event this year, and it would be much appreciated if it could be announced in plenty of time if fireworks are to form part of the programme.
This will allow pet owners to better prepare their animals and reduce their trauma.

It has helped tremendously.

Officers stopped vehicles and pedestrians entering the beach and confiscated any alcohol found, both to prevent drunkenness and to avoid broken glass posing a hazard to beachgoers.
The Methodist church in Ilfracombe is grateful to all who attended its Christmas party and thanks Women’s Manyano of the Evangelical Methodist Church for the gift donations.
