Self-defence seminar in Pennington empowers women
It was an opportunity for attendees to learn techniques that could help them respond to potentially dangerous situations.
In a society where gender-based violence remains a serious concern, creating opportunities for people to learn practical self-defence skills is an important step towards building confidence and promoting personal safety.
Revive Coastal Luxury Spa recently hosted a self-defence seminar with Practical Combatives, bringing the community together for a morning focused on awareness, practical skills and personal empowerment.
The seminar provided attendees with an opportunity to learn techniques that could help them respond to potentially dangerous situations. Beyond the physical skills, the session highlighted the importance of understanding personal boundaries, recognising possible risks and having the confidence to act when faced with a threat.
Gender-based violence affects individuals, families and communities in many ways. While self-defence training cannot prevent every incident, learning practical skills can help people feel more prepared and confident in their ability to respond to challenging situations. Access to this kind of training also creates space for important conversations about personal safety and the need to support one another.
For many people, taking the first step towards learning self-defence can feel intimidating. However, the opportunity to learn, practise and build confidence is worth it. The seminar encouraged participants to invest in their own safety and recognise that developing these skills is a valuable part of personal empowerment.
