Police sting operation nails reckless and negligent driver

A 46- year old man was arrested recently after he fled, driving dangerously through traffic, during a police sting operation.

He was finally stopped in Shelly Beach where he promised police a substantial sum of cash to avoid arrest for reckless and negligent driving.

Police arranged for the cash to be exchanged, upon which the man was arrested.

The man’s accomplice (41),  who assisted the suspect in the exchange of cash, was also arrested.

He too faces a charge of corruption.

In addition, 425 heroin capsules were found.

Warrant officer Johan Terreblanche of SAPS Port Shepstone K9  with the assistance of members from Port Shepstone and Margate Crime Intelligence and Port Shepstone DPCI made the arrests.
