Gcilima singer ‘Mlindo the Vocalist’ recovers after crash
Lindokuhle Mgedeza (25) had been travelling from the South Coast to Durban when the accident occurred near Umkomaas.
Afro-soul singer ‘Mlindo the Vocalist’ is recovering at his Gcilima home after a road accident last Sunday morning, just a month after he was involved in a near-fatal crash in Durban.
Mlindo (25) whose real name is Lindokuhle Mgedeza had been travelling from the South Coast to Durban when the incident occurred near Umkomaas.
According to his manager Nyiko Bilankulu, the Amablesser hitmaker wasn’t injured but was “emotionally traumatised”.
“Mlindo lost control of the car when he was trying to negotiate a sharp curve. His car overturned but fortunately he is okay. However, his car is a write-off.” Mr Nyiko said.
The singer is said to be pondering the significance of two accidents in such a short period of time.
“But he will be okay,” said Mr Nyiko.
Mlindo rose to fame when DJ Maphorisa saw a video of him on his social media page, performing an acoustic cover of ‘Midnight Staring’.
The deejay recognised his talent and suggested a collaboration.
This was the beginning of a fruitful relationship that ended with the recording of the hit, Amablesser.
