Silvy Ragoobar, who taught English and Afrikaans for an impressive 30 years, is retiring.

Marburg Secondary recently bade farewell to teacher Silvy Ragoobar, who taught English and Afrikaans for an impressive 30 years.

Acting principal Madhan Seevnarain said Mrs Ragoobar was passionate about her work, which she carried out with wit and charisma.

“She has been an inspiration to the pupils whom she has guided with vision and wisdom. She set the highest standards for herself, expecting nothing less from her pupils,” he said.

Mr Seevnarain added everyone at the school wished Mrs Ragoobar a happy retirement.

“We pray that God keeps her safe and in good health, and that wherever she may turn, she will be surrounded by loved ones and live the dreams she has rightfully earned after serving the educational community for three decades.”
