Wider Park Rynie road is welcomed

It has also been partially upgraded.

THE Park Rynie road entrance to Umzinto has been widened in an attempt to prevent accidents, and partially upgraded.

According to Allied Movement for Change councillor, Roy Bhoola, he had noticed that there was no exit for storm water, which was causing major damage to the road.

“I asked that all the sand be cleared so that during heavy rains, water will flow more easily into the stream.”

He added that the large sinkhole in the road had been compacted with concrete, rocks and G5 material.

“However, even though this section has been compacted, it still requires filling.”

The road is compacted in order to make it safer for motorists.

Umzinto resident Sheldon Pillay is one of the many motorists who dreaded driving on this road.

“This road was initially okay to drive on, but it became progressively worse, especially for larger vehicles.

“I’m happy to see something finally being done about it.”
