The Roaring 20s came to life in spectacular fashion with the staging of the latest Platform Jazz offering, ‘The Great Gatsby’ at Margate Retirement Village recently.

Azalea Hall was packed with punters sporting boaters, boas, flappers and feathers for the performance, and prizes were presented to the best-dressed man and woman.

The show featured colourful costumes, energetic performances and of course, fabulous music.

“We incorporated ideas from both the book and the film when decorating the stage and Cathy Peacock’s Platform Jazz ensemble played favourites from yesteryear which slotted in perfectly with the theme,” said Residents’ Activities Committee events co-ordinator, Carol Tyers.
