Special prayer for new idol
A new Ganesha was installed under the peepal (sacred fig) tree.
Port Shepstone Tamil Association (Sivan Temple) devotees gathered for a special consecration prayer (Ganesha Pradeshti Poojai) last Friday.

A new Ganesha was installed under the peepal (sacred fig) tree.
This tree is revered as a great source of natural remedies which can be used to treat up to 50 different ailments.

The association’s secretary, Radha Moodley said Ganesha was the god of prosperity, good luck and success.

“Lord Ganesha is one of the few Hindu gods who is said to solve all kinds of troubles and touch all aspects of human life with his holy presence.
“This majestic idol of Lord Ganesha seated under this tree is truly a treat for the eyes and soul.”
