Two people died in a head-on collision between a car and a bakkie on the R61 between Ramsgate and Southbroom last night (Friday).
KwaZulu-Natal Private Ambulance Service responded to the incident.
Paramedics found six occupants had been injured. Two patients sustained critical injuries and three patients had serious injuries.

The patients were treated and taken to hospital. However, one person who had sustained critical injuries died before emergency services arrived.
The second critically injured patient died shortly after arriving at hospital, despite the efforts of paramedics and hospital staff.
The cause of the accident is unknown. Authorities are investigating.
