Lucien Beach earns Blue Flag Pilot Status
Residents, businesses and visitors are urged to play their part in keeping the beaches clean, tidy and beautiful.
For more than four years, Tidy Towns Shelly Beach to Margate volunteers have worked tirelessly to clean, restore and maintain Lucien Beach. The organisation has now welcomed the fantastic news that the beach has been awarded Blue Flag Pilot Status.
The achievement is a significant win for the community, local businesses and the many visitors who choose the South Coast as their holiday destination.
Blue Flag recognition helps strengthen the region’s reputation as a premier coastal tourism destination, attracting visitors, encouraging investment and supporting the local economy.
Tidy Towns Shelly Beach to Margate said the achievement was particularly special after more than four years of volunteers dedicating their time and effort to improving and maintaining Lucien Beach.
Through countless hours of work, they have helped make the coastline a place the community can be proud of.
The organisation paid tribute to the volunteers who contributed and encouraged residents, businesses, and visitors to help keep the beaches clean, tidy, and beautiful.
