Organisers do need to know as soon as possible, and remember, no entrants = no show. The centre is also planning a Country and Western sing-a-long morning in March and details will be posted as soon as possible. The Bendigo Troupers are busy rehearsing for a show in May to try and raise some extra money for the centre, which provides a great service to the community. They also run a keep fit programme two mornings a week, a craft morning and blood pressure services – all for R60 a year.
Thank you to Grant Nevett, Dave Bormann, Mike King and Edwin de Bruin, who met at Tweni Tennis Courts last Saturday. They did a brief walk-through of the overgrown section to identify the overgrown escape route being used by criminal elements. Gardeners will be clearing a large section for a follow-up inspection.
A huge bouquet to Bridie Lawlor and her team who made a start on clearing the park area, which is another hiding place. Sincere thanks also to Alex Skene, Liz and the team, for clearing the Rethman/Stapleton roads intersection, allowing traffic entering Rethman Drive better visibility. RNM contractors are very busy with verge clearing and Tweni is getting back to its former glory.
Please remember that any theft experienced, no matter how big or small, must be reported to SAPS so that they get a true reflection of how much crime is taking place in your area. Even attempted break-ins and trespassing needs to be reported. Please make sure that property street numbers are clearly visible to enable security companies, SAPS and Law Enforcement to find it in an emergency.
Cheryl Bannister-Jones says that the trip she organised for 18 seniors at Rawdon’s was a great success.
