Hibberdene Happenings: Intermittent water cuts are unacceptable
Parts of Pumula have been without water for approximately three weeks.
What a woeful, waterless week it was! Although supply seems to have been restored to most areas, intermittent cuts are still taking place, particularly in the evenings.
Your scribe has been reliably informed, by someone living in the area that parts of Pumula have been without water for approximately three weeks. This is simply an unacceptable state of affairs!

A well-attended memorial service was held for Charlie Smith at Mizpah Church last Saturday, March 7. Charlie will be lovingly remembered by many. Unfortunately, news of the service was received too late for inclusion in last week’s issue of the Bonus.
Not everyone seems to have been aware of the fact that the Mtwalume flea and craft market date was postponed to March 7th (last Saturday) due to inclement weather.
As a result, fewer stallholders than normal exhibited last week, but the market nevertheless went off well, and all the food was sold out, which is always a good sign.
Two young sisters, Diane and Danika Human, worked tirelessly during the morning selling raffle tickets for a local orphanage, as well as plants and popcorn, which had been donated. Well done girls, what a lovely gesture.
The women who attended the World Day of Prayer gathering on Friday were rewarded with a wonderful service led by Reverend Anneli Mey. The men’s breakfast the following day was not too well attended, but an enjoyable time was had by all. The next breakfast will take place on April 4.
Crime continues to raise its ugly head in Hibberdene, and there have been several instances of petty theft and housebreaking, as well as reports of ‘seedy’ characters posing as car guards in the centre of town. Please be alert at all times.
Sylvia Rautenbach underwent surgery recently, while Dalaine Goliath continues to recuperate from her broken arm at home. Both women are wished well.
Nancy and Tommy Allan celebrate an anniversary on the 16th, while birthday wishes go to Margarit Smith and Duo Olwage (11th); twins Natasha and Candice le Roux and Carl van Heerden (12th); Linda van Vuuren (13th); Antoon Broodryk, Neville Olivier, Alta de Villiers and Mati Rogers (14th); Leopold Oosthuizen (15th); Annemarie Swanepoel (16th) and Dennyl Cole and Bubbles Bezuidenhout (17th).
