To kick off, lifesaving is in the middle of the competitive season.

Tthe KZN Nippers Championships took place at Marine Club, on two sweltering days, in Durban recently.

The 2x1km team of Noel and Jacques Vries finished third

The relatively new beach manager, Nomfundo Dlamini, has already made a very positive impact on the beach.

Having a background in conservancy, Nomfundo has placed much emphasis on cleaning the beach and ensuring the grass banks are groomed.

She is wished well as she goes on leave this week to have her second child.

Observant beach goers will have noticed that the beach Super Tube is at present being refurbished by The Blue Marlin Hotel.

This important facility should be open in time for the coming holiday season, which starts on March 20.

The All Sorts Shop recently also completed an extensive upgrade to the mini golf course at the beach, now called Ithemba Mini Golf.

Good luck to all the SSLSC members who will represent the club at SA Lifesaving Championships in Port Elizabeth at the end of this month.
