The question many are asking is where they can be tested if they suspect they may have fallen victim to the virus.
So far, there are two places:
- Lancet Laboratories – 28 Bazley Street, Port Shepstone. A doctor’s referral is required. Call 039 682 5070 for more information.
- Testing center at the Shelly Boulevard, near the MD24 medical practice in Shelly Beach. You have to be referred by MD24 for the test. Call 039 315 0275 for more information.
- Neuberg Global Laboratories – 615 Palm Road, Shelly Beach. Call prior to arrival. Medical aids require a referral letter from a doctor. If paying cash, no doctor’s referral is necessary. Call 031 904 0500 for more information.
At the time of writing, the Herald was unable to confirm if or where free government testing centres had been established on the South Coast.
Non-medical aid patients are encouraged to call the Covid-19 hotline, 0800 029 999 for information on how to proceed.
