Scottburgh Saps makes public appeal for lockdown compliance

People are asked to contact the police station to report any contraventions of the strict lockdown protocol.

In order to prevent further spread of the Coronavirus, South Africans are on a nationwide lockdown.

However, many people are not adhering to the regulations.

Scottburgh Saps has made an urgent appeal, asking that people contact the police station to report any  lockdown contraventions or crimes.

The station’s communications officer, Captain Adam Francis, went on to add the following:

• No gatherings and no parties in public and private places.
• Practice social distancing in public places.
• Leave your residence in extreme cases such as only for medicals, grocery shopping, to collect SASSA grants, banking and to fuel up.
• Grocery shoppers are asked to go out alone and once per week.
• No social walks, socializing, jogging and taking dogs for a walk.

“You cannot win the battle against Covid-19 by isolation only, but you can win it by also exercising the recommended hygiene control,” said Captain Francis.
